This Privacy Policy explains how BuildLedger (“BuildLedger,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our construction estimating and project-management software and related websites and messaging programs (the “Services”).

1. Information we collect

We collect information you provide and information generated as you use the Services, including:

  • Account & contact information — name, business name, email address, and password.
  • Mobile phone number — when you choose to receive text messages from us.
  • Project & business data — estimates, jobs, documents, photos, and financial records you enter.
  • Usage & device data — log data, device and browser information, and cookies used to operate and secure the Services.

2. How we use information

We use information to provide, secure, and improve the Services; to communicate with you about your account and jobs; to process payments; and to comply with legal obligations. Phone numbers submitted for text messaging are used only to send the messages you requested (see SMS section below).

3. SMS / text messaging privacy

No mobile information will be sold or shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the above categories exclude text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We will not share your opt-in to an SMS campaign with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with the services of that campaign. Your mobile number and the consent you provide are used solely to deliver the BuildLedger account, job-status, and billing text messages you signed up for.

We share information only with the service providers necessary to deliver those messages (for example, our messaging and telephone-network providers), and only to the extent needed to send the messages.

You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP or contact us at support@buildledger.app. Message and data rates may apply; message frequency varies.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with: (a) service providers who process data on our behalf under contract (hosting, payments, email, and SMS delivery); (b) authorities when required by law; and (c) a successor entity in connection with a merger or acquisition. As stated above, SMS opt-in data and consent are never shared or sold for third-party marketing.

5. Data retention & security

We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services and meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymize it. We use industry-standard administrative and technical safeguards (including encryption in transit and access controls) to protect your information.

6. Your choices & rights

You may access, correct, or delete your account information, and opt out of marketing communications at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws; contact us to exercise them.
